Do I need to own a horse to take lessons?
No, we have a variety of trained lesson horses and ponies for student's to ride.
How many riding lessons do I need to become a good rider?
As in learning many other sports, it depends both on the quality (of instruction) and quantity (necessary number of practices) and dedication (of the student towards learning) Our programs are based on semesters of 12 weeks, one lesson per week. Adjusting for age and ability, a student should become reasonably proficient in the basics of horsemanship and able to walk, trot, and canter on a suitable horse in controlled situations during the 1st semester.
Do you teach lessons in the wintertime?
Yes. We teach lessons year round in our beautiful, climate-controlled facility near Parker.
